In Giang Mo Village, OasisConcept is creating a unique “Living Heritage Village”. Our project combines the cultural identity of the Muong and Dao people with the natural beauty towards sustainable development and community empowerment.
Foreword: Between the human breath of the earth and the quiet flow of time, we seek an origin - a place of soul and space in memory. At Giang Mo Village, Binh Thanh Commune, Cao Phong District, Hoa Binh Province (now Phu Tho Province), we find a vivid ink painting with majestic mountains and forests, willow streams whispering a thousand-year-old song, and above all, the stench of Muong and Dao culture spreading through each house and light. OasisConcept does not come to change. We come to listen, to relax and together with the community here weave a new program - A Living Heritage Village.
I. Ban Giang Mo: An Awakening Heritage Source – Where the Past Whispers, the Future Speaks
Ban Giang Mo is not merely a point on the map — it is a miniature universe of identity. A world where hills curve like soft silk ribbons, crystal-clear streams whisper like prayers, and deep green forests cradle the secrets of time. Above all, Ban Giang Mo is where the hearts of the Muong and Dao people beat in harmony with the rhythms of festivals, customs, language, and age-old crafts passed down through generations. This is not just a land — it is a living heritage, a spiritual treasure still intact, waiting to be awakened from the slumber of time.

II. Creating a 'Living Heritage Village': A Symphony of Land, People, and Time
OasisConcept’s philosophy is “Awaken to Live – Connect to Grow”. We do not disrupt the local lifeblood. We arrive as artisans — listening, observing, and patiently sculpting upon the foundation of indigenous wisdom. What emerges is a masterpiece in harmony — between past and present, between people and place.
A. Spatial Planning: A Dance of Nature and Culture
We envision Ban Giang Mo as a living organism, where every vein, every cell has its own meaning, together creating overall harmony.
- Core Cultural-Tourism Zone: The Heart of Ban Giang Mo – Where the Soul Shines.
- Centered around the community hub, this is where traditional stilt houses of the Muong people and rammed earth houses of the Dao are carefully restored — not as static artifacts in a silent museum, but as vibrant homes, where lived experiences and memories intertwine with every breath of the space.
- Every stone-paved path, every courtyard, is a stage for heritage stories, for the sounds of gongs, for the rhythm of bamboo pole dancing, for the aroma of bamboo-tube rice and rice wine.
- From a humble courtyard, we created a “Cultural Square” — a vast open space paved with natural stone, crowned by a graceful soaring roof inspired by the form of Muong stilt houses, light and majestic like an eagle gliding through the great forest. This will be the place where the village fire flickers each night, where locals and visitors come together to weave symphonies of kinship and culture — in a breath that blends the past with the present.
- Internal pathways will be “empathic routes” — spaces of connection between people and place, reserved for unhurried footsteps, the familiar crunch of bicycle tires, and small, eco-friendly electric vehicles.
There is no rush here — so that every breath of the village can be felt fully, gently, slowly, and with deep emotion.

- Ecological Buffer Zone: The Breath of the Forest – An Embracing Embrace of Heritage.
- Surrounding the cultural core are endless green stretches of mountains and forests, where streams meander like silver threads embroidered upon the land. We are committed to preserving this pristine beauty — intervening only with gentle footpaths that whisper like the wind, rustic wooden bridges arching over crystal-clear waters, and small resting spots tucked beneath the forest canopy, where people can pause and listen to nature’s whispers.
- This is a space for visitors to immerse themselves in wild nature, explore diverse ecosystems, and participate in organic farming activities with locals, sowing seeds of life and reaping joy.

- Service & Infrastructure Zone: A Strong Rearguard – Where Convenience Hides.
- Tucked along the outer edge — separate yet harmonious — lies the zone for essential amenities: centralized parking areas, a tourist information center, and electric vehicle stations. All are thoughtfully arranged to serve their function without disrupting the overall landscape, acting as a quiet backstage that supports the complete experience within..
- The architecture here will be more modern but will retain the indigenous spirit through materials and colors, ensuring it does not disrupt the overall landscape.

B. Landscape: The Loom of All Things – Where Art Springs from Nature
We envision Ban Giang Mo's landscape as an intricately embroidered tapestry, where every detail tells its own story:
- Village Paths: These paths are not just routes; they are the village's lifelines, paved with local cobblestones, flagstones, or stone-patterned concrete, creating a rustic, durable, and pleasant feel for every step.

- Boundary Walls: No longer rigid boundaries, but artistic ribbons made of natural stone, bamboo, wood, or gracefully trimmed green hedges, blending into the common space.
- Heritage Gardens: We will create “Traditional Medicinal Gardens” of the Dao people — where ancient herbal knowledge is not only preserved but also vividly showcased through each plant and remedy.
Alongside will be vibrant “Native Flower Gardens,” like open books telling the rich story of the region’s flora — where nature and indigenous culture intertwine at every root.
C. Architecture: Soul in Every Home – Where the Past Lives Vibrantly in the Present
Architecture in Ban Giang Mo will not just be structures; it will be works of art, the very soul of heritage:
- Muong Stilt House Homestays (the soul of Ban Giang Mo):
- We will restore and renovate traditional wooden stilt houses, preserving their dignified, sturdy "turtle house" form, with roofs thatched with palm leaves or traditional grass/terracotta tiles, ensuring coolness in summer and warmth in winter.
- Interiors will be minimalist, using wood, bamboo, rattan, and adorned with vibrant Muong brocade textiles, traditional household items.
- Modern amenities (en-suite bathrooms, hot water, electricity) will be integrated subtly, "hidden" behind bamboo partitions or wooden doors, ensuring maximum comfort without disrupting the original space.

- Dao Rammed-Earth House Homestays (if suitable):
- Inspired by traditional architecture with thick, earthen walls — naturally warm in winter and cool in summer — we inherit and evolve this structure with a sustainable approach. The yin-yang tiled roofs, symbolizing balance, will be reimagined as outstretched wings of a bird — a symbol of freedom and good fortune — offering a living space that feels both familiar and deeply symbolic.
- Interiors are minimalist, focusing on functionality, with accents from Dao ethnic clothing and brocade items, offering an authentic experience.
- Community Cultural House / Multi-functional Center: A Converging Heart – Where Interaction Shines.
- A signature landmark will be created — perhaps a stylized Muong stilt house rising gracefully within the landscape, or a cluster of rammed-earth structures softly interwoven, using local materials such as wood, river stone, and bamboo. It will embody the harmony between tradition and modernity, between nature and humanity.
- This will be a sacred space for traditional festivals — where dances and songs echo through the mountains and forests. More than just a cultural stage, it will also serve as an indigenous learning center, where visitors can experience traditional crafts such as brocade weaving and the unique culinary arts of the Muong and Dao people. The open ground floor will function as an exhibition and showcase area for local handicrafts and specialties — bridging traditional values with contemporary livelihoods.

D. Community: The Heart of the Living Village – Where Heritage is Ignited
People are always at the core of every creation. OasisConcept places its trust in the power of the Ban Giang Mo community:
- Co-creation: We will organize design workshops where local people, especially artisans and elders, will be "architects" alongside us, sharing knowledge and stories so that every design detail embodies the village's essence.

- Igniting Heritage: Specialized training programs in tourism skills, homestay management, cross-cultural communication will be implemented, transforming every local into a true "cultural ambassador."
- Ban Giang Mo Community Tourism Cooperative Model: This will be the management heart, where all profits are shared equitably and transparently, and reinvested back into the community, ensuring sustainable development from within.
III. A Vision Beyond Time: Ban Giang Mo – The Heritage of the Future
Ban Giang Mo is not just a project — it is a promise. A promise to revive values quietly forgotten; a promise of a prosperous future with the community at its heart; and a promise of a sustainable tourism model that honors both nature and culture.
OasisConcept is proud to be a companion on the journey to shape a “Living Heritage Village” in Ban Giang Mo — a new symbol of harmony between people and culture, where the past is not only preserved, but cherished, brought to life, and continues to inspire future generations.
Come with us, let's weave the dream of Ban Giang Mo!
Sincerely,
OasisConcept – Creating spaces, shaping futures.
